What was meant to be a day of celebration turned into chaos as a massive crowd gathered
at Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium to witness Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s IPL
2025 victory parade. The overwhelming turnout led to a sudden stampede, leaving several
injured and emergency teams rushing to control the situation.

According to eyewitnesses, the stadium and nearby streets were flooded with tens of
thousands of fans hours before the event began. As players made their way onto the stage,
sections of the crowd surged forward, leading to panic and a stampede near one of the entry
gates. Security personnel were reportedly outnumbered, and the barricades failed to hold
back the wave of supporters eager to catch a glimpse of their heroes.
The unfortunate incident resulted in the death of three fans, while over 25 others sustained
injuries, some of them serious. Emergency services rushed to the scene, and the injured
were quickly moved to nearby hospitals. Bengaluru police have launched an investigation
into the crowd management failure, while BCCI and RCB officials expressed deep sorrow
over the tragedy and promised support to the victims’ families.
