
Patna: RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav confirmed his father’s decision to expel brother Tej Pratap from both the party and family today. While acknowledging Tej Pratap’s right to personal choices as an adult brother, He also stated the party “cannot tolerate such things” and remains dedicated to Bihar’s settlement. The expulsion was done because of a photo with an unknown woman appearing on his Facebook page, which he claimed was hacked. Lalu Yadav, however, cited “moral values” in his X post, reinforcing the party’s stance against ignoring them.

In a post on X, RJD president stated, “Ignoring moral values in personal life weakens our collective struggle for social justice.”
He further wrote, “The actions, public conduct, and irresponsible behavior of my eldest son are not in line with our family’s values and traditions. Therefore, under the current situation, I am expelling him from both the party and the family. He will have no role whatsoever in either moving forward. He is expelled from the party for six years.”
His expulsion comes just months before the state assembly elections. While Lalu Yadav’s younger son Tejashwi Yadav, considered his father’s political heir, is leading the RJD’s campaign, the controversy sparked by His social media post has put the party in an embarrassing position and made the tough time for the party for the upcoming legislative elections in Bihar.
