A terrorist attack in Pahalgam, located in the Anantnag district of Jammu & Kashmir, resulted in one tourist’s death and injuries to six others on Tuesday, according to reports, with the death toll expected to rise. The incident occurred at Baisaran, a meadow that can only be reached on foot or by pony, where a group of tourists had visited earlier that morning. The total number of fatalities is still being determined, as Chief Minister Omar Abdullah referred to the attack as “much larger than anything we’ve seen directed at civilians in recent years.
” Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Union Home Minister Amit Shah by phone, urging him to implement “suitable measures.” As per sources, Mr. Shah has departed for Srinagar to assess the situation and will convene an urgent security review meeting with all relevant agencies.
