Pakistan authorities and locals are blaming India for the floods in the POK region after India released significant amount of water in the Jhelum river. People of that area are linking this to the recent terrorist attack in Pehalgam. Some Pakistani media outlets are even calling it “water terrorism” and “flood retaliation.”
Emergency has been declared by the Pakistan
Amid the floods in the Muzaffarabad the government has declared the water emergency in the area ” particularly in the Hattian Bala area, due to the rising water levels. The locals has been advised to move to the high level area from the low level area and near the river side area.

The Director of Operations at the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) in Pakistan has confirmed that they didn’t receive any information or prior notice from the India regarding the sudden release of water in the Jhelum river.
